"I like to smell her and listen to her hum songs fro hours. She stares at me and smiles until I fall asleep. I love Mom and Dad. I love life. Home will be my favorite."
Born 765 grams (1 lb 11 oz), now 1535 grams (3 lb 6 oz). Now 15" (born 12"). Today Mom left the freezer slightly open for a few hours...40 bottles tossed. Tears.
"Back to isolation we go... positive staph/MRSA results. Brand new hospital protocol requires it. I'm changing things around here, people."
Is there a way to earn a living by stretching? I'm so good at that. I can stretch fast and slow. I push up when I'm on my tummy. There's really no stretch I cannot do.
"No one better take my doll. She's so tiny. Makes me feel big and strong. I love her."
She has a lot of hair on her head. It's red like my Dad's. So very VERY special to me. And look at all the precious lanugo all over her body.
"We need to keep her head warm." *giggles*
video: Journey has her daddy's temperament. So far. And I adore her. Tears... Oh, those sneezes.
Her throat culture results show MRSA / staph infection.
She lost a little weight so she's back under 3 lbs (1350 grams). Grateful for her cute little kitten cries.
video: She's been handed to me 13 times, but I've never picked her up and held her, until tonight, December 6, 2014. What a JOY!
Born 1 lb 11 oz (765 grams) and 12.25 in. long, our little 24+6 week baby girl changed it all. We had no idea what we were getting into when I went in at 23 weeks, 2 days...
This post chronicles October 6-16, 2014 -- my stay in the Santa Monica UCLA Labor & Delivery unit.
